Chapter History 2009-2010 School Year Events for the year Summer Work Session at House (July 25, 2009) - Seventeen undergrads and two graduates worked during the day to get the house ready for the upcoming year. Pictures are here. Football Camp Begins (August 15, 2009) - Thirty-five players return to campus to begin preparation for football. Picture Day (August 29, 2009) - Football practice in which the team pictures are taken. The parents tailgated at the event. Pictures can be found here. A picture of all 35 players can be found here. Classes Resume (September 3, 2009) - Classes begin for the year. Rose, like all colleges across the United States face a threat of the novel H1N1 flu (Swine flu), the first global pandemic in over 40 years. For almost all cases the symptoms are mild, but the younger age group is more likely to be affected. Battle of the Borders (September 5, 2009) - The classic rivalry football game is played and the Engineers win the game 61-24. Game was played in Richmond, Indiana. Faculty Cookout (September 9, 2009) - The chapter hosts a faculty cookout on the Patio by the Union. A large turnout of faculty and staff make the event a success. First Brotherhood event of the year (September 11, 2009) - A new goal this year is more brotherhood events. The first event of the year, organized by Alex Pantages, is Bowling at Vigo Bowl. Pictures can be found here. North Park Football (September 12, 2009) - First home game played at 5:00 pm. The Engineers beat North Park, 48-17. The 109 points the Engineers score is the largest number of points scored in the first two games by any Engineer team since 1913. Pictures can be found here. Opening JV Football Game (September 13, 2009) - The Engineers play their opening JV game. Pictures can be found here and here.
